Silver Star Medal Award (Korean War)

Master Sergeant James W. Blackmon, United States Army, is reported to have been awarded the Silver Star under the below-listed General Orders for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with the 3d Infantry Division in Korea. He served as an Infantry Operations And Intelligence Specialist (Instructor) and was assigned in Vietnam to ADV TEAM 18, HQ, MACV ADVISORS, MACV.
