My friend Glenn

Glenn was my friend; we attended church together; and I named my son after him; although he never knew that.

Friend

Dennis and I were roommates at flight school in '66. I had not tried to contact him since then (time rushes on) and only recently discovered that he had been killed in Nam. While we only knew each other for a few months, I will never forget his incredible smile and easy "southern" accent - always the true gentleman. To this day I have a picture of the two of us in our cubicle, leaning on each other, donning flight helmets and smiles. As I write this the memories come flooding back and I am truly saddened...thanks Dennis.

My Friend Glenn

Glenn was my friend. We both flew together in the 174th AHC in Duc Pho. We arrived in country together in June of 1967, and I decided there was no one better to model my behavior after than him. He was a southern gentleman, soft spoken and honorable. I was scared and edgy and he was calm and sure of himself. I will never forget the day Russ Doersam entered the tent after returning from the crash site and broke the news of Glenn's death. I was not prepared to lose a friend, but that was to happen more than once. You are home and safe Glenn and watching over us, no doubt, with care and compassion.
