Caption: ARMY CHIEF OF CHAPLAINS Rev. Francis L. Sampson presents a gold medal to Mrs. Michael J. Quealy Sr., to honor her son, Rev. Michael J. Queley Jr., an Army chaplain who was killed in Vietnam. Ceremony at the Marriot Motor Hotel commemorated the four chaplains who died together 25 years ago yesterday during World War II. Background painting depicts Father Queley kneeling over a dying soldier moments before he himself was killed by Viet Cong fire.

The Philadelphia Evening Bulletin - February 4, 1968

The first Hall of Heroes award, a new citation established by the Chapel of the Four Chaplains, was presented last night. It went to Mrs. Michael J. Quealy, of New York, mother of Chaplain Michael J. Quealy Jr., the fifth of seven chaplains to die in Vietnam.
