Finally visited you in Kona... Dec. 2023

Spent my 75th birthday in the big island and I needed to visit you at least once before I saw you again. Kona is a beautiful area and you're in a nice area by so many good people. I knew to visit a fallen brother was not an option but a must in my life. See you soon my brother in arms.... Platoon 1068 on the road. Semper Fi

Ground Casualty

Dong Ha Combat Base was a U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army base eight miles northwest of Quang Tri on Highway QL-9 near the intersection with Highway QL-1, and approximately six miles south of the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). On March 6, 1969, Marines from Supply Company, Force Logistic Support Group (FLSG) Bravo were at Ammo Supply Point #2 at Dong Ha loading Grade III ammunition to be destroyed when an explosion occurred. The blast, possibly from a grenade being handled, killed two Marines, LCPL Keith J. Puhi and LCPL Harold L. Seaman. Two others were medivacked with injuries to the hospital ship USS Sanctuary (AH-17). Another four others suffered minor injuries.
