THE WALL OF FACES

Benny, I was the corpsman right behind you and Armbruster. I had only been with Bravo company for 2 weeks when you were killed. You had taken me under your wing and were teaching me everything I needed to know about being a marine. Being a navy corpsman for 3 years did not prepare me for what the next year held. You have been the most influential person in my life. I cannot tell you how often I think of you. I will be going to Washington DC with the Utah Honor flight on October 10th where I will look up your name. Thank you for being part of my life.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Benny I think of you often, you were a fun guy and a friend to everyone. I have dreams of us at a school dance but no one can see you but me. I joined the Marines because of your death. Rest easy my Friend I will see you again someday.

Dear Lcpl Benny Prestwood, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is the end of Spring. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

As your 71st birthday approaches, your sacrifice is not forgotten.
