Thank You
Dear Sgt Russell Powell, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Flag Day is soon. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

A man of Honor and bravery
Russell was from my home town. How me got together in a squad in Vietnam with the First CAV Air Mobile was unbelievable odds. We did not know each other at home, but we each knew many of our mutual friends. Russ was killed by a sniper while I was lighting his cigarette. He died painlessly. A great man and short time friend.

A Forever Love
Russ is my eternal companion. Every day I thank our Heavenly Father because I know that, though our time on earth together, was not for long, we will be together forever. He is my hero.
