I am the Curator of the POW/MIA Bracelet Display in the Vietnam Hangar of the Palm Springs Air Museum in Palm Springs, California where we now have over two thousand bracelets and would be honored to include your bracelet in our Display. If you are an immediate family member (spouse, fiancé, sibling, child, grandchild, cousin, niece, nephew) or close friend I can order one for the Display in your name.

Pathfinder
To the family of Herndon. My name is Rolando Montana and my dad, Rosendo Montana was the other Pathfinder with him on that day in 1970. My dad was KIA on that day, April 15, and his remains were not recovered until April 29. Needless to say, you are both hero's in my book. As I live in Arlington, VA, I always honor you and the others listed with my dad. Thank you and your family for your services. I believe I may have a few pictures along with my dads which I hope to post in the near future. May God always Bless us.

I knew his name
When I was in middle school I wore a POW bracelet inscribed with (then) Pvt . Bivens’ name. I never took it off, and only stopped wearing it after it cracked and broke in half when I attempted to tighten it on my wrist. Thoughts of Pvt Bivens have crossed my mind often as time passed and other conflicts called our brave men away. I visited the Vietnam Memorial recently and located his name on the wall; it was an honor to remember him once again and see his name among so many other brothers in arms.

Good buddy
I lived in the 39th Med. Hooch next door to the 52 Avn. PATHFINDERS for 5 months in 1970. I met Herndon at the n.c.o. club which was a tiny adjunct to the photo lab. We must have walked the path up and down 50 times together. Learned about thr Pathfinders and about his life in Queens, NY. Such a nice man with a huge laugh. Not shocked that he took a dozen NVA with him. He was s great American soldier.
