Thank You

Dear Cpl Daniel Powell, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. I researched you on your 53rd anniversary, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Sunday was the 77th anniversary of D-Day, Operation Overlord. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Ole Gahr friend

I think of you often Dan. We weren't close friends, but played ball together and were both class of 67. I spoke to my children and they grew up, and they know of you and all who gave their all. I entered the service 1 year after you feel, I was fortunate enough not to see action. Your great smile and sense of humor I am sure has been missed by those close to you. You will never be forgotten, especially on this day of remembrance.....for you and all who gave the full measure.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Daniel Lee Powell, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
