Neighbors
I remember Mike Bishop as my neighbor who lived in the house behind the house I grew up in. My parent's built our house and we moved into it in 1963. As a little girl - I though Mike was the handsomest guy I ever saw and would constantly climb the back fence to visit him. He was a very quiet young man and he put up with this little girl wanting to be with him. I remember the time his mother invited me in for cookies and milk - and I thought it was my first date with Mike. I was devastated when my mother informed me, right before Christmas of 1968 - that Mike had been killed in Vietnam. I was only 9 years old at that time. Here's to you Mike - Never forgotten!

Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC Michael Richard Bishop, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
