Wilfred Poepping- Remembered by His Sister
Wilfred Poepping grew up in New Munich, Minnesota and went to high school at the nearby town of Melrose. There are now 3 new pictures for Wilfred. Two are from his early school days and the other is from his funeral holy card. Thanks to Wilfred's sister Darlene for sending those photos.

Ground Casualty
PFC Robert D. Pierce and SP4 Wilfred N. Poepping were infantrymen serving with B Company, 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry, 101st Airborne Division. On November 15, 1971, they were on patrol with their unit about 9 miles southeast of the Hue Citadel in Thua Thien Province, RVN, when they encountered a mechanical explosive devise placed by a friendly force. The mine detonated and both soldiers were fatally injured. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
