A real hero.

I was in that fight with SP-4 Plante, and saw him get killed. He was one of five US advisors with 115 South Vietnamese soldiers, and was trying to rally some Viet soldiers to attack into the VC trench line when he was shot in the head; he died instantly. I recovered his body, and recommended him for the Silver Star.

honoring you.....

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

Thank You

Dear Sp4 Normand Plante, Thank you for your service as a Radio Operator. I researched you on the 55th anniversary of the start of your tour. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Memorial Day is next week when the nation remembers all our lost. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

2nd Cousin

Normand was my mother's (Elaine Plante) cousin, killed years before I was born. When I took my 8th grade Washington trip (25 years ago), I was able to look him up on the wall. It meant alot. My daughter left for her 8th grade Washington trip this morning. I hope she has a chance to look this up as well. Thank you for your service to our great country. You are not forgotten Thank you to all who have remembered him.
