Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

As long as you are remembered you will never die...

My friend from Olin and brother from the 4th Infantry Division.

Hi Dennis, Do you remember playing football with me in Olin High? You were the class of 1965 with 25 graduates as I remember and I was in the class of 1966 with 39 graduates. You married Sally Cruise, good family friends between my family and the Cruises. Sally's older sister Carol married Gene Groth my first cousin. finally, we both served in the 4th Infantry Division. You were in the LRRPs (lLong Range Recon Patrol) and I was in a straight leg grunt. You were KIA on 9/6/1968 and I was WIA on 7/9/1970. I truly wonder what you life would have been like because everyone remembers you as such a nice guy. It has been over 50 years from our serving in Vietnam and I Will Never Forget you. John Kell
