Fate

I didn't know Vincent, but I always had a connection with him. Vincent Piscar was killed in the summer of 1968, a proud marine and well loved in Greensburg Pa. I have seen and heard. My uncle also was a marine from Latrobe that was around the same age and was a wrestler from Latrobe, his name was Victor Koski. I had heard that they enlisted together and both served in Vietnam around the same time, my uncle fought at Kai San (forgive spelling) my uncle moved to California shortly after being discharged and met a girl and had a son and a short marriage, the product was my cousin Vince. I never had met my cousin until one day in late 2003 I accidentally met my aunt whom in had never met before... well you can imagine the excitement and nervousness as they brought my cousin to see me at the furniture store! I saw him from 40 yards away, I could see the Koski features on his face, you know what I thought first? That he was named for this Vince who died long ago in Vietnam and did he live a life that would do his namesake proud. This was not the only time that I would have a thread with the fate of Vincent who died in the summer of 1968 via landmine

we will remember

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

A True American Hero

Though I never got to meet you, I always hear great stories about you. My dad, your nephew, thought the world of you and, in remembrance of you, I was named Vincent Piscar. I carry that name with pride and dignity for you.
