Thank You Soldier
As a fellow Buckeye, I say "THANK YOU"
As a Veteran, I say "JOB WELL DONE, SOLDIER"
As an American, "YOUR DEATH WAS NOT IN VAIN"
And as a Believer, "YOUR SPIRIT IS ALIVE--AND STRONG"
Again, thank you Soldier, for your courageous and valiant service, faithful contribution, and most holy sacrifice, given to this great country of ours!
REST IN ETERNAL PEACE MY FRIEND

John Pies
I was with John Pies when he died due to a tragic accident at Firebase Nancy in Vietnam. In January 1970 some US mortar rounds exploded killing the entire mortar platoon of Company C/4/12 of the 199th Infantry Brigade when the troops were unloading a truck after an operation. Pies was just walking past where the incident took place.
He was a really nice fellow. A few years ago I met his sister who wanted to know what specifically happened. He died instantly.
