Remembering Your Sacrifice

Cousin Dwayne,
Thanks to you and your family for your sacrifice to our nation. I’ve stood in front of your name on the Wall on several occasions wondering about your service. VERY nice to read remembrances from some of your buddies serving with you that fateful day. We reflect on your contributions this Memorial Day Weekend.

we will remember

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Thank You

Dear Cpl Dwayne Pickart, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Your 52nd anniversary just passed, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Tomorrow is the 46th anniversary of the last battle of the war. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

I will never forget you Pic

Pic,I was with you that fateful day in May 69. You were considered the old timer and me the New guy.I looked up to you as you showed leadership and experience beyond your years. I really enjoyed our conversations and your guidance to help me survive VIETNAM. I will never forget the day we tracked a wounded sniper and came upon a stream crossing, the sniper was waiting for us to appear in a clearing from across the other side. You were hit and knew immediately that it was serious. Me and RTO called in Medivac to get you out to hospital quickly, but knew the wounds were serious and possibly fatal. I love you Pic and will never forget the sacrifice you gave for your Country. My condolences to your family and love ones. Rest in peace until we meet again Robert Sauder C 1st 502 101St.
