Gone But Not Forgotten
Stuart...forever etched in my memory is your funeral. The flags, the gun salute, the song "Let There Be Peace on Earth," and you were only 23 years old. I was a sophomore in high school; my brother had just graduated. Seems like only yesterday. You may be gone, but you are not forgotten. Forever we are indebted to young me and women like you who paid the ultimate price for the ideals of freedom and democracy. Someday, I hope to thank you in person. Until then, rest in the arms of your loving Savior.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
Mary Frye – 1932

Never Forgotten
Always Remembered
Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul....and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.

Not forgotten
Stuart, Although we never met, I just want you to know you are not forgotten. You gave the ultimate sacrifice, your life for what you believed in. Sleep well my friend, and thank you for protecting the freedoms we have today.
