B-4-2 Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. April 1966 . I meet Inky in Mpls. during our prosessing into the US Army, we'd been Drafted! My Service # ended 0062, his was 0064. We were that close from the time we meet! He smoked Camels and I did Lucky Strikes. I got a Ist Cav. Christmas card from him in mid December telling me that he was In Country and that it might be awhile before I heard from him again. I sent him this letter the night I got the card. There is a Lucky Strike still in the envelope. Thought he'd stoop low enough to smoke a Lucky if he was out of his Camels, lol. Was a very sad day when this letter came back to me. The Gaslight Square in St. Louis, Hauers Drive Inn in Shakopee, Beers at the PX, stories about my Harley his Royal Enfield. I miss you Buddy!!

Thank You
Dear PFC Renold Peterson, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Yesterday was the 46th anniversary of the fall of Saigon, and it is still sad. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
