honoring you.....

Remember to save for them a place inside of you, and save one backward glance when you are leaving, for the places they can no longer go...

you were so 'short'

I woke you at dinner time for your breakfast right before the rocket hit you. You worked the night shift. I got blown out of the hooch and you were gone. It was then I decided not to extend my time in Vietnam. You reminded my Al, there was no safe place in Vietnam.

In Remembrance of a Friend Who Is Not Forgotten

We got to be friends while working together at Reinhardt's IGA store in Coloma Michigan. We traded jokes and had many good conversations about life in general. I was shocked and saddened at the news of your passing. It's been over 50 years but I'll never forget the ultimate price you paid for the freedoms we all enjoy and that so many take for granted. You may be gone but never forgotten. In my book you are a hero and may you rest well in the peaceful embrace of our heavenly Father.

Thank You

Dear Sp4 Allan Persicke, Thank you for your service as a Medical Corpsman. Thank you for the lives you saved. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is spring, and flowers are blooming. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Allan Wayne Persicke, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
