I am honored!
My name is Paul Johnson. I am a history teacher who recently was able to get Mr. Perry's letters home to his family from when he landed in country in March, 1969 up until just a few days before his death on September 19th, 1969. I am planning on using some of his letters for my students to read in our Vietnam Unit. I would love to be in touch with any of his childhood friends or friends of the family that could help me learn more about Mr. Perry, and to remember his legacy as well as that of all of our Vietnam War veterans. Thank you! Paul Johnson [email protected]

A Great Friend
I grew up with Ken from elementary through high school. We played and talked sports together incessantly. For a kid growing up in Middletown Ken was a great person to have around. Many memories that I still think about. When in DC that is my first stop to pay respects to him. He will always be missed.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SP4 Kenneth Lee Perry, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter
