A good friend

I grew up with Lee and he was a good friend. I served two tours in Vietnam before he got there and was very saddened later to learn of his death after I got back. Still miss him.

Distinguished Flying Cross Award

Captain Lee Wayne Billingsly was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, with two Oak Leaf Clusters, for his heroism and extraordinary achievement while engaged in aerial flight. He served as a Rotary Wing Aviation Unit Commander and was assigned to the 129TH AHC, 268TH AVN BN, 17TH AVN GROUP, 1ST AVIATION BDE.
