War drew us from our homeland
In the sunlit springtime of our youth.
Those who did not come back alive remain
in perpetual springtime -- forever young --
And a part of them is with us always.

Dear Lcpl Hayward Peleiholani, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Today the the 52nd anniversary of the start of your tour. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is the Easter season. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

My brother served with you in Vietnam. On November 3rd, 2020 my brother, Tony Poole joined you on the other side. He was another casualty of the war. He died of complications due to Agent Orange. On several occasions after Vietnam he talked about you and your positive attitude. I wish that things could have been different and you would have made it back. Bless you, your family and all the men/women that served with you. As long as I am alive, your sacrifice will be honored. Semper Fi.

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

Though I haven't met you in person, I have heard wonderful stories of you. I thank you for loving our grandparents and taking good care of them and your sister, Ivylani. Thank you for your good service to our country and people. I love you and wish I could have met you. A hui hou until next time.
