I was there on that day August 26 1968, when Bilbo was killed..I was the first Marine to find his body. He died quickly while fighting off the enemy..I will never forget his face or name. We covered him gently and respectfully in a poncho...we then carried him away. He is presently with God.
My wife and I visited LCPL William F. Bilbo Jr's family and gravesite in New Brighton. It was one of the most healing experiences of my life.

We Will Remember
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
