My Best Friend
From tricycles to automobiles, from crayons to making iron art work for the Lajiguna Art festival, Steve and I did everything together except...he joined the Marines and I joined the Army. My big mistake.
I continue to miss my very best friend. I will always remember him as a young 20 year old with red hair and freckles.
God Bless You Buddy

Remembering An American Hero
Dear LCPL Steven Craig Patterson, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

My trip
When I went on a school trip to Washington, D.C. I went to the Vietnam veterans war memorial and there was record books I remember I just flipped to a random page and his name was the first I saw and to my surprise he was from Huntington park which is where I'm from we were all given a rise and I decided to give it to Steven Craig Patterson and I'm going again next year in April of 2014 and I can't wait to visit him again. I'm planning to drawing something and maybe leave a note. Your service will never be forgotten and I will always remember you. Even though I never met him he will forever stay in my heart. Thank you for your service
