Memorial Day 2020
For years I wondered who the pilot was that day, exactly 50 years ago. A few years ago, I was able to find your name on a casualty database. Warrant Officer Ralph Bigelow.
Lt. Neil Hayes was on board the chopper, as was Lt. John Kaugars, who died two days later. You were taking them on a recon of where Charley Company was headed that day. Helicopter pilots and their crews were among the bravest. I salute all of you. You will not be forgotten. T.D. Company C 1/52 Americal 1970
