Eddie Bies

My husband was Eddie's neighbor. He was heartbroken when he heard about Eddie. Wonderful man and wonderful family. We visited Eddie at the cemetary today. My husband, David Dargo also served in Vietnam, 1st Cavalry, 2nd of the 7th, 1969-70.
Eddie is not forgotten.

While i was stopped at a gas station on a ride to the Vietnam Wall......i was in Tennessee or Kentucky and i seen a older chevy station wagon parked off to the side and it had on the rear bumper a sticker that identified the driver as a Vietnam Vet......i walked to the station wagon and asked the guy IF he was a Vietnam Vet?.......he said No but said I believe his ___?___was....i then said ok thanks and walked back to the bike.......THEN i heard a lady yell are you a Vietnam Vet.....I said yes i am.....she walked to me gave me a BIG Hug and thanked me for my service........Then she told me about her cousin or brother that was KIA in Nam......i wrote down his name and told her that when i got to the WALL.......i would find HIS name and pay HIM my respect....Even to this day.......i still pay him respect when ever the mini wall travels thus KC.......wished i could know who that lady was and i could get to tell her i NEVER Ever forgot her or Eddie either !

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Edward Alan Bies, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
