I was there.

Didn't know Donald very long. He was killed shortly after being assigned to our unit, HHC, 11th Avn. Group. He was a good kid and a good soldier. I saw his unfortunate passing, and will never forget him.

He was my best friend

I met Donny at Knoxville Elementary in first grade. We became best friends. We went through grade school, junior high and high school together. Donny, Denny, Walt and I were inseparable as teenagers. I’ve never had another friend that I loved as much as Donny. I think about him often and the sacrifice he gave. Thank you for being a very important part of my life. I miss you.

honoring you....

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Thank You

Dear SGT Donald Panno, Thank you for your service as a Radio Teletype Operator with the 1st Cavalry. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Lent, and the first day of spring. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
