Ralph

We were in a math class at Robinson Jr High. We had so much fun but didn't learn much geometry. Always remembered him fondly.

Remembered

DEAR CORPORAL RALPH BICKFORD,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AS AN INDIRECT FIRE INFANTRYMAN. IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG FOR ALL OF YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU HAVE DONE, AND YOUR SACRIFICE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE.. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE. MANY OF US HAVE BEGUN OUR JOURNEY TO EASTER. YOU ARE ALL IN OUR PRAYERS

45 years seems like yesterday

Hard to believe its been 45 years since you took me back to school and then headed for CA and overseas. Roses for my birthday, and long distance phone calls, but you would be back next year. The plan was there and back in a year. Then breathe a huge sigh of relief and try to recover from the loss of David. It wasn't supposed to be sooner. You and Dave got a head start of all of us. I love the words to the song...we're only "a breath away to where you are." Homesick for a smile.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Ralph Nevin Bickford, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
