Captain, You were my cousin and my Lifeguard when I was young. It was a sad day in’69 to see your name on the Memorial in town, but I haven’t and will never forget your inspiration and the sacrifice you gave to our country. God bless and keep your brave soul for all eternity my Captain.

CPT GERARD V. PALMA, USMA 1964 - BIRTHDAY REMEMBRANCE (80TH)

The "Friends of Rocky Versace" remember one of Bob Walters' USMA 1964 classmates - a brother Airborne-Ranger - Captain Gerard Vincent Palma, on what would've been his 80th birthday - 24 September 2021. CPT Palma was on his 2d combat overseas tour of duty in South Vietnam when he was KIA. His 1st tour was in the 2-17 Cav Regt, 101st Abn Div. His 2d tour was as Troop Commander of K, 3d Sqdn, 11 ACR.
