THE WALL OF FACES

War drew us from our homeland
In the sunlit springtime of our youth.
Those who did not come back alive remain
in perpetual springtime -- forever young --
And a part of them is with us always.

Before you left for Vietnam I remember you my Dad my 2 Uncles who were your friends and a few of your other friends were behind my Grandparents home having beers I might have been 4 or 5yrs old.I remember my Dad asking you why you volunteered I dont remember your exact answer.I was so little it seemed like a dream like you had been gone for a long time but it was months.Lot of young pretty girls lined up crying my aunts and mom crying.The one thing that is clear today as the day it happened my Brother who was 3 or 4 at the time told my mother and everyone there that his name was no longer Michael Cabradilla his name was now Michael Pacheco.Everyone was stunned but I think happy also I had the feeling that at that moment you were there and watching.God Bless you for your sacrifice.Aloha

Dear Cpl Michael Pachero, Thank you for your service as an Indirect Fire Infantryman. The 52nd anniversary of the start of your tour is soon. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Lent has begun, and it is the end of winter. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
