Dear Sp4 Robert Osborne, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. Your 52nd anniversary is soon, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Lent has begun. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. Thank you for stepping up and answering your country's call. Rest easy knowing you will never be forgotten.

I feel like I know you even though we never met. You were gone well before I was born, but that doesn't mean you haven't had a profound influence on my life. I am your neice, the oldest daughter of your younger brother. My baby brother is named after you. You have watched over me my whole life; a black and white picture on the wall, over the sofa, with your smart military cap and small smirk. You haven't been forgotten. Growing up there were lots of stories that started with "Your Uncle Bobby....". You are a source of pride in our family. The echo of your loss has trickled down to the next generation, but that pride has trickled down as well. To say "thank you" seems so small for such a monumental sacrifice, but there are no other words. Your memory, your letters home, your legacy is cherished. Until we meet Uncle Bobby, rest in peace.
