My Friend and Brother Marine
O Danny Boy - Our Rocketman, I finally came to visit you on the Vinyard only to learn to my great shock that you were killed in Vietnam. We went to your grave and say hello. I was so eager to surprise you that you finnally got me on the island. ...... I cried Danny, I regreat not taking you up on going home with you and meeting the family and having a personal tour of the Island. What happened? Did you re-enlist? Or worse - were you about to be discharged? We were in Weapons Platoon together at Lejeune and we have been through a lot of stuff! Remember the night we almost went to invade Cuba? We use to march together 20 miles and then the big 50!!! Yet, I was not there for you my good friend to give you cover in Nam. Now, you have to cover me from Heaven. For you acheaved what few men can accompolish...saintly martyrdom! For no greater love has a man then he give his life for his friends says the Bible. I will never forget your wit and smile. Know, that you will never be forgotten. God's Blessings! A friend always, Bob
