We served together
We served together. We trained together at Ft Campbell, KY. You were killed in action after I was wounded and sent home. We recently had a reunion of those we served with and you were talked about with fondness and remembered. Rest in peace, bro. I will never forget the ultimate sacrifice you made.

My Foxhole Buddy and Great Friend
You were one of the best troopers and rifleman of Bravo Company, 1st Squad, 2nd Battalion, 501st Infantry, 101st Airborne Division. Danny Boy we flew over together as the originals of Bravo Company in Operation EAGLE THRUST on December 13, 1967.
We did push back the NVA the night we were overrun in Thuy Thien and you were killed...John and I were both wounded, but made it back to the world. Your ultimate sacrifice saved a lot of lives. I did fulfill my promise and stood on the Golden Gate Bridge and tossed our three Vietnamese coins from the first tower in honor of Georgia Boy (John Caylor), you and me.
Lt. Duffy Casey, John Caylor and I visited your Mom and sister and your honored grave-site...I even brought back some red clay dirt from Cu-Chi to sprinkle on your peaceful resting place...ah, Danny the stories we told them about you...the stories we still tell...the Tuna Fisherman from San Diego...we should have opened up that restaurant together...you are missed every day. You were and will always be a hero to Bravo Company, John and me....I salute you my dear friend and fallen brother.
