My AirBorne School buddy.

David and I met on January 1967 at Ft. Gordon Ga. B co 8th Bn 3rd Bde. I remember that he flew to Kansas to see his newborn child. Only I new about his trip. Then we went to airborne school in Ft Benning Ga. After graduation we went to Ft. Bragg Nc. He went to B company and I to C 3/503. The unit deployed to VietNam in Oct 1967 as part of the 173rd Abn Bde. I did not find out until March of 68 that I had lost him . We spoke often about his new born in early 1967. While at Ft, Gordon , he had the top bunk and I had the bottom bunk. He would carry the company guide on , I would carry the the first aid kit. On the 45th company airborne yearbook. My student number was 110. I forgot his student number. It still hurts that he is gone. His son must be in his early 50s., I stayed in service and retired as a Command Sergeant Major.
