Remembering My Uncle David

I grew up hearing about what a wonderful man you were. How you carried your faith with you wherever you went and how your friends called you "Preach" or "Preacher" because you were always preaching God's word. I was often told I had my uncle David's eyes and I loved knowing that when my mother looked at me, she saw a little bit of you because she loved you so. You have been so missed uncle David, more than words can ever express. I love you and look forward to the day we finally meet. Please comfort my mother, she misses you so much and needs to know, that you know, how much she loves and misses you.

With all my love, your niece,

Gretchen Givone
(Linda Betebenner's Daughter)

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SGT David Lee Betebenner, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
