We Never Forget
I was Vicks platoon leader in Vietnam. Although I was only one year older, he seems so much younger than I. He was the most popular guy in the platoon.
It’s a blessing that his sister, Liz, still stays in touch so that we can reminisce about him. Now that his best friend, Guillermo, has also passed, there were a few of us left. But we never will forget Vic.

DEAR SPEC 4 HUGH BEST,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AS AN INFANTRYMAN. MY FRIEND'S BROTHER WAS ALSO KILLED IN PHUOC LONG. SAY HI TO MIKE. IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG FOR ALL OF YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU HAVE DONE, AND YOUR SACRIFICE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE.. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE. MANY OF US HAVE BEGUN OUR JOURNEY TO EASTER. YOU ARE ALL IN OUR PRAYERS.
