Remembering You
Never met you, Sir, but you have been a part of our family since I was 6 or 7. I've never forgotten you; found your name on The Wall when I went to DC! You see, our mom was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She and her Scouts (including our bro) were pen pals w/you & some in your platoon. Every Halloween Mom would take the candy bars (they were full-sized back then) out of our bags and ship them to you guys! We complained at first, but when she explained why, it was ok...our small way to offer support! (We had two cousins fighting in Nam, too) We were very sad to learn you were killed. Mom saved your letters. I came across them again today. I like to think you were someone Momma "met" when she crossed over (2017)! (If your family or the vvmf would like your letters, they can contact me.) God Bless you!
