THE WALL OF FACES

Specialist Four Dennis Lee Bertschinger, Served with the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, United States Army Vietnam.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Denis & I had been together for a couple of months (I had been in troop C for two years - Ft Mead to Vietnam) when we got our first Purple Hearts. Then, 19 days later, this happened (I was lucky and spent 4 months in the hospital). I think of Denis a lot. He was a good guy.
