Honoring my fallen friend on his 73rd Birthday.
Still remember the last time we talked. Shelly Jonks New Years party. 12/31/1968- 1/1/1969.
Still remember standing on this spot in 1969 with many others and not believing he was really gone.
You are not forgotten my friend and R.I.P.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

This is his boot camp photo from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Platoon 3035. He earned the title “U.S. Marine” on September 9, 1968.
