Thank You

Dear PFC Nelson Nicely, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. The 54th anniversary of the start of your tour is soon. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It’s a New Year, but not necessarily better. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

He was a good man and a great Soldier I followed in his footsteps and joined the ARMY in 1998 did a tour in Iraq. I received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart from a IED blast it's awesome to read these post and know that PFC Nicely served his country with honor thank you so serving beside him.

Brother dragon

I was talking to Nelson the day before he was killed he was from va. And I was from wva. We talk about our home towns. It was a sad day when he was killed, I remember his platoon leader gathering us altogether for a prayer he was an RTO for the lt. And I was an RTO for the platoon sgt. Rest in peace Nelson love br. Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Nelson Talmadge Nicely, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
