MIA Bracelet
I came across the Commander's MIA bracelet in my jewelry box today. I wore this bracelet through the last 3 years I was in high school. Even when I stopped wearing it, I would look at from time to time. I live in ruralTexas and never think of the Viet Nam Wall. When I found the bracelet today I thought of the wall. When I looked on the web site, I found his name. I was one of few of my friends at time that supported our men and women during that terribly time. Thank you, Commander for sacrifice to keep us safe.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear CDR Richard Crawford Nelson, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter

Cmdr Nelson
I have been keeping this honorable man in my prayers for the past 44 years, since the day when I was in college, and first received his POW bracelet. I always prayed for his safe return, and it wasn't until I visited a traveling replica of the Wall in St Louis, MO in 1994 that I found his name on the Wall and knew then that he had died. This past week I was honored to visit D.C. And see the Wall there, and again see his name, and honor him in reverence, remembrance and prayer. I now have a rubbing of his name from both walls, and his bracelet. Should I ever find a family member, I would gladly give these items to them in tribute to a life given in bravery.
