Another Wayne Bernhardt
Wayne, I have been to the wall a couple of times. I wish I had known your name was on the wall. It would have been shocking to see it, however, since I am a Wayne Bernhardt, also. My middle name is Allen instead of William. I was almost on the wall, but an administrative error in my orders delayed my arrival in theater and my assignment was switched with another navigator I trained with back in the States. He was was shot down within weeks of arriving in Vietnam. God was looking out for me. It is strange who lives and who dies. But, it doesn't really matter. This life is finite and our life with God is infinite.
