Our neighborhood revered you David.

Our family lived right across the street from your mothers house and I dated your twin sister Mary. You will never, ever be forgotten David. RIP Warrior.

Thank You

Dear Sp5 David Nachtigall, Thank you for your service as an UH-1 Helicopter Repairer. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Happy New Year. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

I remember like it was yesterday . . .

Your twin sister called me shortly after 8 a.m. They had been to the house - two Army personnel who had that heart-wrenching duty of informing family members that their son/brother had died in action. I visit your graveside every year and leave a remembrance of flowers/flags. It's been 46 years -- where has the time gone? But you are never forgotten and never will be. Love you always, Lynn

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP5 David Joseph Nachtigall, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
