Dear PFC Willie McVea, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Yesterday was the anniversary of the terror attacks. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

I sit here beside the granddaughter and great granddaughter of Willie Dee McVea. As his daughter, I am sharing memories of how peaceful and kind he was as a dad. I am thankful to have been a part of his world.... even for a brief moment. Much love and respect to the Son, the Brother, the Husband, the Soldier, the Hero, and... the Daddy. Kim

Even though it has been over 46 years, I think of you every day Willie. All the stuff we went through as well as the stories and the laughs we shared. The day I was wounded and you were KIA will always will always haunt me.

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
