Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC Marvin Richard Berhowe, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Memories of a friend and comrade in arms 2/12 25th Inf Div 69-70
Although I didn't have a great deal of time to get to know you I have maintained several fond memories of you over the course of 39 years. Since I had been in country for several months you seemed to think I really knew my stuff. You're favorite figure of speech seemed to be " How ya gonna act man?", and you used it often. I was within a few feet of you when you passed from this earth and the memory of that night long ago still haunts me. Rest easy and know that you are not forgotten.

Someone who cares
Although we have never met personally, I would like to take the time to thank you for serving our country. I am truly saddened that you didn't live and fulfill a long and happy life, but I believe that everything happens for a reason. You are truly a hero. Thank you for everything you did. It is greatly appreciated. God Bless!
