Tribute to cousin Tom Bergin
Tom's father was my grandmother's brother. I was 12 when he died but never met him although my three uncles (all service veterans) stayed in the Bergin family home in Albany when they came to the USA after WW2. I am currently writing a history of the Bergin family who originated from Ireland. I am hoping to be able to visit the Bergin family grave when I come to Albany in 2023.

40th Anniversary Reading of the Names, November 7, 2022
To the family and friends of Thomas J. Bergin,
I had the honor to read Thomas’s name at the 40th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on November 7, 2022. My uncle, Donald Edward Koelper, was among the list of 30 names I read in front of the memorial. I never met my uncle. He was killed two weeks after I was born on February 16, 1964 in the bombing of the Capital Kinh Doh Theater in Saigon. Every family’s story is unique but we are all united in our grief. I would love to hear more about your loved one. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
