Thank You
Dear Sgt Edward McHenry, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Time passes quickly, but our world needs help. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

High School Fun
Eddie-We had such fun in HS and we did the most outrageous things, like driving down the street in your van loaded with kids rocking back and forth saying go, go, go. We Tp'd many a house and I know that lots of the girls were crazy about you. I was really rocked when you died and the war became real to me. You were a wonderful and kind guy and I'm sorry that you did not live to be the stellar man I knew you would be.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SGT Edward Curtis McHenry, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

We were inducted on the same day.
In high school,I remember you as a really nice kid. Although you were a couple of years behind me in school, we both were inducted into the Army 5 years later, April 19, 1967. After basic training I never saw you again. I was in Vietnam when you were killed but did not know it. Now I visit your name on the Wall about 4 times a year when I take students on historical tours to DC, and tell them what I know about your story. You will always be part of my Vietnam experience. Rest well, you have not been forgotten.
