Ground Casualty
PFC Timothy P. McGuire was a rifleman serving with E Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. On May 27, 1968, McGuire was admitted to a military hospital suffering from malaria complicated by pneumonia. Four days later, McGuire expired at the 22nd Casualty Staging Facility at Da Nang Air Base in Quang Nam Province, RVN, while awaiting evacuation for advanced treatment. He was 18 years old.
