do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

As long as you are remembered you will never truly die....

My dad served with you in A 1/5 Cavalry in Vietnam

My father was your buddy in Vietnam. He told me he was receiving medical attention when your unit was mortared. He is still shaken by your passing many years after the war. He spoke highly of you. He took me along when he visited the moving wall in Buffalo, NY. I was a young kid but I'll never forget that day. Thank you for your courage and sacrifice so that we may some day live in peace.

You served with my father

My dad served with you in A 1/5 Cavalry and said you were buddies. He told me he was receiving medical attention when your unit was mortared and you were killed. He is still shaken by your passing many years after the war. He took me to the mobile wall in Buffalo, NY many years ago when I was a kid. I remember that day, and I am proud to have served in the U.S. Army as well. Thank you for your courage and sacrifice so that we may some day live in peace. My father still has your picture in his Vietnam photos. You are not forgotten, rest in peace.

Thank you for being my friend

Thank you for protecting our country. I was a small child when you were in college and stayed at our house. I remember you graduating and going to war. Mom got a call that you died in service and we attended your service, I will always live with that thought in my mind. I pray for you daily and your family.
