Scholarship In His Memory

LCPL Berger Jr is one of “The West Chester Eleven” who gave their lives for our country. The West Chester Eleven are honored in a scholarship fund established in their memory by several Gold Star Families and Vietnam War Veterans. The West Chester Vietnam Memorial Scholarship Fund is in the care of The Chester County Community Foundation. The foundation is online where information about the scholarship is listed. It’s hoped that someday eleven scholarships will be available for high school seniors who have a 3.0 GPA and higher. Currently only one scholarship is available for West Chester Area High Schools and Bishop Shannahan High School. Donations to the West Chester Vietnam Memorial Scholarship Fund are needed to honor the eleven heroes who gave all.

To big cousin

This is in rememeberance of my cousin Eldin, to the family he was Jacky. I never got to know him but I feel like I do. With every story my grandma (his aunt) tells me with joy and a smile on her face about him. I feel a connection to him even if we never met, I feel like in some way we have. I hope to make him proud in everything I do. I strive to be as brave and couragous as him. One day when it is my time to go; we will meet and it will be as if there was no time or space that has passed at all. He never was forgotten or ever will be to the next generation of our family. A brave man should never be forgtten.
