I never got to meet my Uncle
I was only 2 when the war took my Uncle Warren. I never met him but I know the family, especially my grandmother, was never the same. When my Mom (Warren’s sister) passed 2 years ago, I found a letter he wrote my mother, his last letter, he was less than 1100 hours (44-days) from coming home. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever read. As hard as it was, in an instant I felt like I knew him and missed a man who I never got a chance to meet.

Dear PFC Warren McElhanon, Thank you for your service as an Antitank Assaultman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Time passes quickly, but our world needs help. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
